Director of Field Operations
Dana Fink serves as the Director of Field Operations for Smart Building Technologies (SmartBT). In this role, Dana plans, organizes, and coordinates all field operations activities to ensure profitable growth. His responsibilities encompass a range of tasks, from resource hiring and allocation to financial forecasting and issue resolution planning. Dana leans on his 40+ year career in the mechanical and controls industries to provide valuable insight into project development, and oversees installation and retrofit work to meet contract specifications and customer expectations.
In addition to operational duties, Dana also plays a crucial role in supporting the sales team, defining the scope of services and developing corresponding fees for opportunities. He communicates vital project information across departments to streamline processes and minimize costs and delays. Furthermore, Dana contributes to the hiring, training, and development of personnel, ensuring adherence to company policies, regulatory compliance, and implementation of industry best practices. Dana represents SmartBT at various industry associations and fosters relationships with customers, contractors, and community leaders to uphold the company’s reputation and further its objectives.
Prior to joining SmartBT, Dana accumulated a wealth of experience in the field, honing his expertise in operations management. He started his career as a Service Technician before advancing to the role of Service Manager for a small commercial & residential HVAC contractor. Dana then transitioned to a larger Design-Build HVAC Contractor, where he assumed the position of Operations Manager, while also joining the Local 112 Union in upstate New York. He also served as the Senior Operations Manager at Siemens, overseeing business units in Automation, Fire and Security valued at over $100 million.
